St. Patrick's church is as rich with meaning as it is with beauty and history. This part of our web site explains the scenes in and around St. Pat's, so that rich meaning isn't lost in the blur.

Dozens of images inside and outside the church tell the story of Jesus Christ and the ministries that followed. They carry on a tradition that began in a time and place where literacy was uncommon: images told the story at least as well as the spoken word. In our world today, the written word is everywhere, yet images are still used to reinforce meaning. So it is in the Catholic tradition: we encourage Bible study, verbally preach the Gospel, and use statues and pictures to teach the ways of the Lord to our congregation.

Perhaps the most recognizable scene is that of the church's facade: the bell tower, cross and turrets on top; a statue of Saint Patrick in front of its largest stained glass window; right down to the stone steps.
