In attendance: Fr. Hagedorn, Fr. Greg Schaut, Deacon Beercheck, Mr. Stroh, Lynne Zullo, Pat Singleton, Ron Ruble, Donna Charlton, Lynne Fischer, Steve Kovach, Carol Masek, Bob Walsh, Mary Zavoda, and Ministries Representatives Excused: Meeting Start Time: 7:15 PM Gospel Reading and Reflection November minutes were reviewed and approved without changes. New BusinessAdult Education and Faith Formation: Deacon Beercheck discussed small group worship education he's been involved in. Tom Frank discussed some meetings he has been involved with having a dinner, followed by spiritual programs. Increasing Parish Council Involvement: Lynne Zullo suggested getting some young adults in the Parish involved. Rob Schneider mentioned that young adults often feel intimidated in meetings with mostly older adults, and Fr. Greg suggested gathering names and visiting people. Lynne requested council members and guests suggest names of young adults to approach,then asked for a show of hands, and agreement was unanimous. Smoking Ban: Fr. Hagedorn discussed the smoking ban requirements and changes already in place; outdoor areas must be away from entrances and windows and other air inlets to buildings, and no-smoking signs must now include the phone number for reporting violations. Rob asked about the feasibility of making the entire property non-smoking, and Fr. Hagedorn mentioned some of the concerns with regular group meetings, like AA. Bob Walsh volunteered to look into how the issue has been dealt with elsewhere. Ministries Representatives: Lynne Zullo thanked the representatives of the various ministries for coming to the meeting, and asked them to give an update on what they have been doing and are planning in the coming year. Old BusinessBasement Renovations: Deacon Beercheck discussed the status of the Holy Name Society volunteers to work on renovations. They members have been gathering details on specific tasks, and they making plans for patching and painting, and are looking into options regarding the divider. Other tasks are being considered for a start around February, depending on weather and schedules. Fr. Hagedorn asked about water damage in the Rectory side entranceway. The damage has been noted, but the examination is incomplete. The Scouts have been doing some work on the entrance areas. Holy name would like to also do tile work in these areas, but this is still to be determined. |
